Checking the TCP/IP Installation

  1. Click Start > Control Panel.

    The Control Panel window appears.

  2. Under Network and Internet, click View network status and tasks.

    The Network Sharing Center screen appears.

  3. In the Tasks pane, click Manage network connections.

    The Network Connections screen appears.

  4. Double-click the Local Area Connection icon.

    The Local Area Connection Status window opens.

  5. Click Properties.

    The Local Area Connection Properties window opens.

  6. Check if Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) appears in the list box and if it is properly configured with the Ethernet card installed on your computer.
